| At Galaxy's Edge in 2025 |
My name is Tegan, I'm in my mid-twenties, I love coffee and music more than anything in this world, and I've been a Star Wars fan for as long as I can remember. I joke that I was destined for it, since my parents went to see The Phantom Menace when my mom was still pregnant with me. I grew up avidly reading and watching whatever I could, and writing "fix-it" AU's with my dad's action figure collection after Revenge of the Sith came out. But my obsession with Star Wars didn't truly take off until December 2015, when my dad took me to see the Force Awakens in theaters one Sunday morning.
Since that day, I've lived and breathed Star Wars - reading books, watching cartoons, collecting Funko Pops (my favorite past time), analyzing the stories I love so much, and writing my own in my private time or with my friends. I fell hard and fast with the Sequel Trilogy, and to day, they remain one of the closest, dearest things to my heart (especially Poe Dameron and Rey Skywalker, my two favorite characters in the franchise).
In 2019, I was lucky enough to write for Screenrant as a list writer, before being promoted to Junior Editor in 2020. Following a personal loss, I took a step back and then left altogether to focus on myself and my family. At that point, the backlash from Rise of Skywalker had nearly killed my interest in the franchise altogether, especially since I'd had to report on it and perpetrate the negativity. But taking time to myself allowed me to fall back in love not just with the franchise, but my beloved Sequel Trilogy, and I've been so much happier since.
The urge to keep writing about Star Wars remained, and finally five years later, I've made my own space to focus on my own enthusiasm about the franchise, the discoveries I find about my favorite films and characters, and to keep updated on the exciting future of a galaxy far, far away.
